Design and comfort: The Square Hotel Copenhagen

Design and comfort has always been a great match, and it’s no exception when it’s conducted with style in one of Copenhagen’s coziest design hotels. The Square is located right in the heart of the Danish capital, but there’s plenty of room. Especially with the refurbishment of the lounge and reception area. Here’s what you can expect.

Ideal location

The name ‘The Sqaure’ refers to the location of the hotel, which was nominated ‘Denmark’s leading boutique hotel’ in 2015. Situated right on the town hall square overlooking the majestic town hall, The Square Hotel offers its guests more than just an ideal location for a weekend getaway. There’s less than 200 meters of walking distance to Strøget - the largest shopping street in Copenhagen - as well as several sightseeing destinations. You can take a cab, go by public transportation or simply walk. Last-mentioned is recommended as you’ll get a different perspective of the capital when strolling around the historical streets in the city center.

Rooftop views

The 6th floor of the hotel offers a splendid view of the city’s rooftops - one of my personal favorite features of the hotel. When breakfast is over, the restaurant ‘transforms’ into a business lounge with newspapers, a self-service snack and beverage bar and CNN in the background. Anyone can use these facilities if they sign up in the reception and pay a small fee (some rooms include access to the area). Definitely recommendable if you need a couple of (quiet) hours to focus on work.
The terrace is also located on the 6th floor and breakfast is also served here during the summer.

The hotel offers 268 minimalistic rooms divided between 5 different room categories; Standard, Superior, Executive, Junior Suite and Junior Suite Deluxe. It’s also possible to choose a family room with space for either 3 or 4 persons.

Our Executive room

Summing up: The Square Hotel is perfect if you need a cosy yet stylish place to stay in Copenhagen for a few days. The central location speaks for itself and especially business travelers are catered for on all levels. It’s easy to stay here with children and the breakfast can be enjoyed with a view of the city. All in all a great experience!
